Designed by guides and athletes, the Mutant Series is great for long days in the mountains that don't require setting up basecamp but might require a ledge-bound shiver-bivy. The backpanel sheds snow and easy-to-use ice tool attachment and glove-friendly buckles mean less time fiddling with your pack. With a hipbelt that includes gear loops and stashes behind the pack to provide access to your harness when you need it, plus integrated helmet and rope carry, the Mutant is a nimble and capable alpine machine that fits better and feels more comfortable than what you’re used to. Whether you're enjoying a North Cascade's classic or getting showered by spindrift in the Canadian Rockies, the Mutant Series can do everything you need except belay you on the next pitch.

San Juan Mountain Guides

San Juan Mountain Guides was founded in 1986 and the original owners were instrumental in the creation of the Ouray Ice Park as well as the development of mountain guiding in Ouray and the San Juans.

Since that time, San Juan Mountain Guides has grown its operation to the entire San Juan Range – offering guided mountain adventures on over 4 million acres of public lands encompassing 5 national forests and multiple wilderness areas. In addition, we regularly guide in 5 other mountain states and lead numerous foreign adventures. We are the Local Experts!

Marcus Garcia

“Marcus Garcia might be the best climber you’ve never heard of.” — Rock and Ice Magazine, issue 238. Marcus is an all-around climber with over 25 year of experience, and has established over 200 new routes, including everything from traditional, sport, and mixed climbing. However, his biggest accomplishment and legacy is not how hard he can push himself, but what he passes on to the next generation of climbers as a coach and mentor. As the lead coach for youth Team USA Ice Climbing, Marcus is helping develop the next generation of Olympic Caliber athletes. When Marcus is not out teaching climbing clinics, he can be found in Durango, Co at his climbing gym. Marcus’s clinics are loved by all.
